Taking care of your Bellman

The Bellman range has been a really popular product in our line-up for over a year now! We thought it would be useful to give you some additional tips that we've gathered from our experiences using the Bellman in our own kitchen, and from talking to you, the customers.

Safety Valve

The steamers have a safety valve built into the handle. You should see this gently venting through the holes when the pressure has built up to 4 bar. It’s important that you don’t overfill the water chamber above the handle as this would prevent the safety valve from operating correctly. You can check this visually when you fill the chamber up with water.

Rubber Seals

Regularly check all the rubber seals to make sure they are not damaged or perished and are correctly seated before using the Steamer. Always use the inner basket as this has the primary seal which seats against the top of the pressure chamber. This seal needs to be compressed by screwing the pressure chamber lid down tight until the primary seal (on the basket) and secondary seal (on the bottom of the screw) are no longer visible.

If you have any concern about seal degradation, don't hesitate to get in touch with us and we can get you an official seal replacement kit.

Operating Your Steamer

Obviously when using Steamer, it’s important to be vigilant at all times, making sure it’s seated well on the stove top, keeping an eye on the time and taking care when purging or frothing with the wand. Most importantly you shouldn’t leave the Steamer on the stove unattended.

Enjoy your coffee making!
