If you're making espresso-based coffee manually at home, you've probably run into the same conundrum we did—how to steam the milk. We love a good flat white and it's tough to get that kind of silky microfoam milk from manual whisks and battery-powered frothers.

Enter the Bellman CX-25S milk steamer (also known as the Bellman Stovetop Steamer). Since we've had our hands on the Bellman milk steamer, we've been perfecting our technique, discovering a whole new joy in testing our mettle at latte art, all from the comfort of the BrewTool kitchen. If you're looking for a guide on how to steam the perfect textured then check this out here.

We've achieved the best results by filling the Bellman milk steamer halfway with water, heating it until steam starts venting from the pressure-relief valve (this takes approx 15 minutes), and slowly turning the flow on once the arm is submerged below the milk. Soon you'll have a vortex going, and all the bubbles will combine. Heat the milk until the bottom of the jug is too hot to touch, and you're ready to pour. (Make sure to wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue.)

With the Bellman milk steamer in our kitchen, the manual morning espresso routine has finally achieved completion.

We also have a stainless steel foaming jug that pairs perfectly with the Bellman, with etched measurements on the inside for extra precision.

The Bellman is also available as a coffee maker. Check out the CX-25 and CX-25P for an all-in-one solution!
